The purpose of this website is to help YOU!
You want to purchase American Made Tires and we want to help you purchase tires manufactured in the USA.
The information on finding American made tires is not readily available. As an auto shop owner I found this out when my father (a retired Chevy worker) wanted tires. I knew better then to sell him tires that were not made in the USA.
So I ordered tires for him from the American owned company Cooper Tires. The first set I ordered were Cooper GLS tires. To my surprise they came and it said "made in CHINA"! I called the salesman and he stated I needed to buy the Cooper CS4 Touring if I wanted "made in USA" on the side of the tire.
Buying an American made tire for my dad turned out to be a little bit of a chore. And you know what? It shouldn't be.
Since then, I purchased Americanmadetires.com for the sole purpose of increasing the sale of tires made in America. I have had a tire salesmen in one of the five warehouses I purchase tires from for my shop tell me, "I can't look on the side of every tire I sell you!" So I have been researching how to find out what tires are manufactured in the USA. My job here on this site is to have the information to give you several choices of different American made tires like Yokohama, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Kelly Springfield, Multi Mile, BF Goodrich, etc.
This site was created to help you do some research on how to find out which tires are made in America. Check out our page, Where's My Tire Made, for code info.
One source is Tirerack.com. On their website you can enter your tire size and look at many tires. When you see one you're interested in, click that tire. Then click on the "SPECS" tab. The last column will show you where the tire was manufactured.
Remember the only 100% sure way to tell where your tire is made is to physically look at the side wall. You can use this info to buy locally but have the tire store confirm U.S.A. on side of tire before having them installed. Please, let them know Americanmadetires.com referred you.
